Description : Until players are experts, masters, and beyond, the most common mistakes revolve around coming up with the wrong plan. Everyone knows to throw the h-pawn against the Dragon, but in more subtle positions, finding the right plan can be much more difficult. Young players in particular tend to play with a lot of energy and calculate well, but their lack of experience often means that in less forcing positions or ones where a variety of plans or piece arrangements are available, it can be tough to find the best one. Throughout this camp of 16 classes, GM Shankland will work with students on the process of finding the right plan. Lessons 1-4: Exploiting the pawn structure Lessons 5-8: Making the right piece exchanges Lessons 9-12: Step by step endgame planning Lessons 13-16: Identifying and improving misplaced pieces. G60 round robin tournaments will be organized on Wednesdays 4:00PM with prizes ($100-$50-$25)
