Event Description | |
Thursday, February 10th at 7:00pm US Central Time, GM Andrey Stukopin is going to have a group lesson on the Italian Game. It will be the second lesson in the series (if you haven't participated in the first one, no worries, just request the material via email: info@austin-chess.com - we covered some positions where Black plays Bg4). During the lesson, we will continue covering how to play the Giuoco Pianissimo variation in the Italian Game for White, in particular, we will be focusing on positions that arise after 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Bc4 Bc5 4. c3 Nf6 5.d3 0-0 6.0-0 d6 7.Re1 where Black has the following plans: 1. Black plays a6-Ba7 then Be6 and takes on b3. 2. Black plays a6-Ba7 then d5 and Be6 (or the other way around). 3. Black doesn't develop his light-squared bishop. 4. Black quickly develops his light-squared bishop to e6. The material will be provided in the form of ideas and game analysis, without too much emphasis on the theoretical part (all of the theory will be provided in a separate file upon request).
