- Topic: Advanced Opening Theory - Modern Tarrasch and Hennig-Schara Gambit against the closed systems as Black.
- Lecture 3, GM Jaan Ehlvest
- GM Jaan Ehlvest was among the top 10 on the FIDE world rankings, peaking at number 5 in the list of January 1991.
- He was a member of the gold medal-winning Soviet Union team (Kasparov, Karpov, Yusupov, Beliavsky, Ehlvest, Ivanchuk) at the 28th Chess Olympiad in Thessaloniki 1988.

- Lecture 4, Alex Yermolinsky
- GM Alex Yermolinsky won the U.S. Chess Championship in 1993, tying for first place with Alexander Shabalov. He was the sole champion in 1996.
- He won the World Open three times: in 1993, 1995 and 1996.
- Topic: The Art of Exchange - Exchanges in Positional Play. Exchanging pieces is a tactical operation, just as a check or an attack on opponent's piece. However, the end goal of such operation may be to attain certain positional advantages.
